OPHIUCHUS , THE THIRTEENTH SIGN

 

The constellation of Ophiuchus or the Serpent can be seen during the summer. It located between Scorpio  and Sagittarius , and like them it is crossed from the ecliptic . Despite this, it is the only one not to have been associated with any zodiac sign. depicts  a man carrying the snake ( hence the name ) , it is located between the constellations of Head of the Serpent and the Tail of the Serpent .

According to mythology the man would be the god of medicine Asclepius . The Ophiuchus was not  inserted between the signs because for the Greeks and Vedic astrology the signs are not the fees the constellations , but a way to divide the ecliptic into twelve equal parts to adapt to the seasons . Astronomically the Sun transits in the constellations of the zodiac for a period It does not match what was reported in horoscopes and astrologers to determine the membership of an individual to a sign as deduced from the following table .
